Administration

Lisa Begay, Principal

Lisa Begay - Principal

I was born and raised in Indiana.  I moved to New Mexico to do my student teaching and never left. I have my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Indiana University and a master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Arizona State University. I earned my administration certification through coursework with Cooperative Educational Services. With nearly 30 years of experience in education, I have served as a classroom teacher, an instructional coach, and an assistant principal before stepping into my current role as principal of Ann Parish Elementary.

My faith and family are extremely important to me.  I have been married to my husband, Johnnie, for over 28 years and have 3 adult children. I enjoy spending time with my family, volunteering at my church, and watching sports.

I am dedicated to fostering a collaborative school community to ensure success for all students!

Aandrea Hays - Assistant Principal

After six years of teaching Science at Valencia High School, I am excited to join the Ann Parish Elementary family and continue my journey within the Jaguar Nation. I graduated from New Mexico State University in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in Biology. From 2014 to 2017, I worked as a permanent substitute teacher and as an IEP Assistant. In 2021, I obtained my alternative teaching license, and I recently earned a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Eastern New Mexico University in 2024.

My passion is to ensure that every student feels safe, seen, and valued for their individuality, background, abilities, and identities. Outside of school, I love to read, play games, solve puzzles, and spend quality time with my husband, our dog, our frogs, and our pet spiders.
